What is Your Why?

I’ve been thinking a lot about why I do certain things, why I say certain things, and why I believe certain things? Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  • Why do I live each day?
  • Why do I care about others?
  • Why do I love others?
  • Why do I work hard?
  • Why do I make plans?
  • Why do I create, sing, play, enjoy?

Whether you can or cannot relate to all these motives, you are in the right place.

It’s easy to forget your why, especially when you never knew what it is. To me, having a why is a direct indicator of having a faith. And having a faith is having a hope.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1 NKJV

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that everyone hopes for something. There is an entire world of stuff to pluck from and hope for.

But what is hope really? Our hope is in the promise of God, the promise of life abundant and life eternal.

Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Romans 8:23-25 NKJV

I started this blog because God gracefully gave me hope during my darkest days and I want to share this light with the world. This living hope is called Jesus and He works through my life. There is evidence of the mystery of God and everyone needs to experience it.

Having hope will give you courage. You will be protected and will rest in safety.

Job 11:18 NLT

Hope will give you courage! That’s pretty amazing to me because it’s true, hope makes you do things that require courage. If you don’t hope [or anticipate] something of value is waiting for you on the other end, you will never receive the courage to move forward.

Today, I stand courageous enough to find the evidence of God in my everyday life even when it’s dark and cloudy. I have faith that the rain that falls waters the seeds.

You may not see every root take hold or witness every sprout break surface but you cannot deny the smell and taste of fruit. There’s a funny little thing that gives significance to hope, it’s called time.

“But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Do you have enough courage to wait today? Wait tomorrow? The courage to believe your hope is reliable?

Well, there is only one reliable source of hope. When you meet Him, you will realize there’s nothing valuable you can have without faith.

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

Matthew 17:20 NLT

    1. Romans 1:20 says,
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.”

Thanks, maybe it’ll be a fun party 😆

    1. There was a time when I did absolutely nothing (depression) and it was very connected to me having NO faith. Once you experience the hope of the Lord, everything changes! Thank you for sharing, God bless you 🧡
